Date: February 13 2006
Item/Subject: ORDINANCE, Amending Chapter 14, Article 1, § 142 of the Code of the
CM of Bangor to Establish Voting Districts
Responsible Department: Legal
Commentary:
The number of precincts within a voting district are established by ordinance. There must
be at least one in each district. Currently, there are two. Each precinct has a voting
location established by Council Order. The Council is considering an Order to reduce the
voting locations from two in each district to one. If there is one voting location in each
district, then there only needs to be one precinct in each district.
This Ordinance change will reduce the number of precincts In each district from two to
one.
