Item/Subject RESOLVE, Accepting and Appropriating a Public Household Hazardous Waste
Management Grant from the Maine State Planning Office ,
Responsible Department: Public Works
The City, in conjunction with 23 other communities, sponsored an annual Household Hazardous Waste
Collection in October 2005. The Maine State Planning Office makes grants available to communities for
such programs. The ataaied resolve will accept and appropriate Maine State Planning Office funds for
50% of this year's costs incurred by all particpating communities. This is a regional grant encompassing
all partiapating communities In the overall amount of $99,912.09. The City's share of the grant is
$18,039.99. The remaining funds will be comment to the amen participating cummunides.

BE rr RESOLVED THAT
$44,412.04 in Maine State Planning ice funding is hereby accepted and appropriated in
recognition of the Regional October 2005 Household Hazardous Waste Collection program
conducted in Bangor; and
be it further resolved that $18,034.94 be retained by the City of Bangor as its share of this
program and that the remaining funds be proportionately distributed W the other participating
communities in accordance with the terms and conditions of this grant.
