Responsible Department: Health B Welfare Commentary: The purpose of this Ordinance is W comply with a directive from the Department of Health and Human Services Geneml Assistance Administrator to include a mileage allowance when computing general assistance eligibility. Previously, mileage was not included in our General Assistance Ordinance as a qualified expense In an applicant's household budget This amendment will provide for it to become one of the various factors to be considered. The mileage amount will be initially established at $0.365/mile and will be adjusted to be consistent with the established State of Maine reimbursement rate for future years. Said reimbursement an allowance shall be at a rate of $0.365 per mile.
