Gould, Planning Officer SUBJECT: Amending Land Development Code Chapter 165-75 Parking Structures Council Ordinance 06 - 22 Please be advised that the Planning Board at its regularly scheduled meeting on December 6, 2005 held a public hearing on the above land Development Code Amendment. The Planning Staff indicated the proposed language was developed to make it dear that parking structures should meet structure setbacks and not (surf") parking setbacks. In addition, required buffer yards for surface parking would not apply to parking structures. It was noted that further review concerning architecturel guidelines and /or alternate landscaping approaches were being investigated but given the City's limited experience with garages more time to explore those mitigation measures would be required. The Board discussed the applicable setback requirements for parking in various districts and concurred that the proposed clarification is warranted. The Board vote unanimously to recommend the City Council adopt the proposed land Development Code Amendment.
