Honorable Mayor Greene
I was leaving soon on another mission from Doctors Without Borders as a watensanitadon specialist.
Since I'm going for? months 4 months who my lest year on the Board of Trustees, it metres sense for
me to resign from the Board now.
Saturday I'm off on Amsterdam, next weekl'll go to Nyala, the capital city of South Darfur. Details are
hazy, but I understand that I'll be working in a few nearby inte nelly displaced person camps to maintain
and improve a tenuous and iruufficient water supply for over 200,000 desperate people. As opposed
Bangor, the government is not fecititatin& providing security orresourees. Workinginhumanitatian
reliefhas helped me appreciate the layers ofdedicatiou, organization and cooperation that inform a civic
infrasrcucnue.
Bangor is blessed in many, many ways not Use least of which is the Bangor Water District, a competent,
healthy civic institution on which I've been honored to serve these last 5 years. Tbar:kyou.
