Grant Realty Corpmation is in the process of retuning its holdings located generally between
Kenduskeog Avenue, Griffin Road, and Broadway for a phased residential and mixed use
development. The City owns the property at 7 Griffin Road that is adjacent to the proposed
development. This Order authorizes the City Manager to exchange deeds with Gram Realty
Corporation to give Gram Realty the additional frontage on Griffin Road necessarytoaccommodate
a proposed access drive that will allow traffic to be directed W Griffin Road rather than Kenduskeag
Avenue. In exchange for this frontage, the City will receive an equal amount of land along the rear
of the CWs lot.

the City property was initially acquired for future school use. As a result, this exchange has been
discussed with the School Department and endorsed by the School Committee. Sincedimroh�no
net loss in property, it will have no impact on future City use of the property. This exchange
developed as part of an overall effort to plan for a development of the Grant property that would
address the traffic concerns of the neighbors and incorporate elements of sound environmental
design into the overall plan. Over the past months, the Transportation and Infrastructure
Committee has discussed this overall project with both representatives of the developer and the
Kenduskeag Avenue neighbors. In addition, the developers have met separately on several
Occasions with the neighbors and their representatives. At its last meeting, the Committee
recommended Council approval & CD, //

(TITLE.) Order, Authorizing the City Manager to Exchange Deeds with Gant Realty
Corporation to Land Along Gri in Road for an Access Drive.
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CRY COUNCIL OF THE CRY OF BANGOR THAT
The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a deed to a strip of land containing 0.96
acres, more or less, along the northeast side of I Gdfin Road (tax map R-33, lot l) to Grant
Realty Corporation for use as an access drive in exchange for a deed to a strip of land
containing 0.96 acres, more or lees, adjacent to the mrth side of ] Griffin Road, to the City
from Grant Realty Corporadon, as shown on Exhibit A. The deeds shall be in a form approved
by the City S011dtar or Assistant Oty Solicitor.
