Commentary:
Bangor Hydro has requested thatthe City execute three easements to allow itto dace subsurface
utility conduits and vaults near the comers of Buck and Main, Dutton and Main, and at the end of
Dutton Street toward the river, the exact location to be determined in conjunction with the
Engineering Department. This will allow the Hydro to replace an emsting utility pole that has been
hit by cars on a couple of occasions and to avoid molding digging up Main Street It Is also
necessary to reroute power as the result of the racino project. Easementsarenecessarysincethe
conduits and vaults will be located on City property rather than in the right-of-way.
The Transportation & Infrastructure Committee recommended approval at its April 17, 2007,
meeting.

Company to permit III Hydro to Install su"udam unity conduits and vaults an City property ocated
hear the intersection of Main and When sneers, near the Intersection of Main and Buck Shears, and the
end of Dutton Street the exact location of Which to be determined by the ary Engineer. The forte of the
Easement Dead shall be as approved by she City solicitor or Assistant City SolbTor.

Bangor Hydro Electric is reyuesting approval for the installation of conduit,
ennaete foundations and associated equipment at the following 1=60m:
• Dutton and Main Streets directly behind Irving
• Main and Buck Streets at Bass Park
• Off Dutton Street parallel to Pike Indushies
Attached is a description of the approximate Wooden of the facilities with a
corresponding Site Plans and Drawings. Surveyed plans will be submitted m the City of
Bangmupon completion of the instillation of said Under®ound Facilities. Preliminary
authorization for instailarioa would be greatly appreciated and will allow theovemll
projectto nsmin on schedule.

lines to be located approximately as shown on the attached exhibit "A", and being
described as follows:
Beginning at or near the southerly bound of Witon Street at its easterly end,

easterly extension, to apoint near an existing private utility pole located easterly of the
Maine Central Railroad bridge abutment, thence extending northerly, uossing Dalton
