In 2005, the City Council established a Taxicab Regulation Advisory Committees to review the CINs
system of cab regulations and the rates in effect. As apart of this effort, a temporary here increase was
enacted, primarily to offset the then rapidly escalating prim of gasoline. Since then, the temporary rate
Increase has been e#ended several times. Based an the Wolk eP this Committee and the Continued
relatively high price of gasoline, It now seems appropriate to make the Increase permanent I understand
that this is acceptable to the Committee, whidh includes representation from cab companies and cab

That Chapter 278, § 278-6(A), be amended as follows:
§27&6. Rats of fares.
A. Fares to be collected from any taximb passenger or passengers shall be as shown an the
taximeter, and no owner or dr'wer shall change rates to such passenger or passengers for
taxicab services within the Amus of the City of Bangor other than the following:
(1) For the first 1(6 of a mile or fraction thereof: $1.50 �, i 'F
