By combining these two divisions, the Arport is placing itself in a better position to meet the growing needs of Its customers. In order to effectively consdidate these functions, It was necessary for them m operate from ane central she at the Airport. The General Aviation building, also known as Building 121, became the preferred location. All ramp employees, including Customer Service Representatives (CSR's), now operate from this location. Given the increase in the number of employees at this location, changes are required W make this an adequate work environment The renovations necessary to make this building more suitable for the current number of employees include providing water service W the employee end of the building, providing restroom and locker roam facilities, an appropriate training and cenference/meetlng roam, adequate kitchen/break area facilities, professional office spaces for the Ramp Manager and Ramp Supervisors, and adequate work spaces for the Ramp Attendants and CSR's. In addition, the proposed renovations will clearly separate employee ares from areas used by our customers, enhancing the overall autamer experience provided by die General Aviation terminal. In January, of 2007, with the assistance of Carpenter Associates, the Airport issued an RFP for Building 121 renovations. We received a total of eight bids from Maine based construction companies. The Arport recommends selecting CMC & Maintenance of 07 ?0s Bangor, Maine for this project. All references provided by CMC have been reviewed, and we have received positive responses. The Airport budget includes $325,000 for the proposed raiovatior s. The CMC & Maintenance bid Is $359,094.29. The remaining amount ($34,094.29) will be transferred from the MrporPs building improvement accounp 85-05, which currently stands at $99,800. The Airport respectfully recliners your recommendation to the full Council that this contract be awarded to CMC & Maintenance for this project.
