The Bangor Public Ubrary submitted an application for $500 m fund a year of free daily panes th the
Maine Discovery Museum for Bangor Public Library members in goad standing. Each pass would allow
free admission far up m four people, at leas[ one of whom must be a child and at leas[ one of whom

The Commision noted that the biggest strength of this program is the collaboration between two arts
and humanities organizations. This direct approach has proven successful for both entities in the pas.
The library makes an effort to promote this opportunity to families who may not be able to afford
museum tickets. Although BPL receives funds directly from the City's budget, the financial advantage of
this collaborative project benefits the Maine Discovery Museum as well.
The Commission for Cultural Development recommends that the City Council approve a grant of $500
