Responsible Departznenti Parks and Recreation
This Order will accept accessibility equipment and funding for related installation work from
American Legion Post #12 for the Parks and Recreation Cooter Building and will recognize the
Post for its donation. Recently, the American Legion identified a need M improve accessibility to
Me third Boor of the building where they rent space and where other rooms are located as well.
Upon further discussion WM Paris and Recreation Director Willette and a subsequent vote by Its
members, the Post agreed to purchase a new stair Ift: and M fund associated installation work.
The donation has a value of approximately $6,300. The new IIR will be Installed on the
Department§ main stairway, which will be more convenient for Mind floor users, and A will be
more user friendly than the current Ifft. The Parks and Recreation Department and Me City
deeply appredate the Posts generosity and willingness M provide this equipment. Post
representatives plan M attend the Council Meeting and make a formal presentation to the City.

CITY OF BANGOR
(TITLE.) Order, Accepting Stairway Lift Accessibility Equipment for the Parks and Recreation
Department and Recognizing lames W. Williams American Legion Post #12 for its
Donation.
WHEREAS, American Legion Post #12 is a current tenant on the third floor of the Parks and
Recreation Center building; and
WHEREAS, the present stair lift in the ba& stairway providing accessibility to the third floor is
difficult to use and inconveniently located for those needing to reach the third
floor; and
WHEREAS, the American Legion recognized the need to improve accessibility for their
members and others utilizing the third floor and has agreed to purchase and
donate a new accessibility lift for the department's main stairway which will be
more convenient anti user Poendly; and
WHEREAS, the donation of this lift and related installation work has a =1 value of
approximately $6,300 and demorastmte5 the American Legion's continuing public
commitment to the City of Bangor and its citizens;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR
THAT
the donation of the Stair lift and related work is gratefully accepted and American Legion Post
#12 is hereby recognizetl and commended for its generosity on behalf of all those using the the
Parks and Recreation Center Facility.
