Item/Subject: RESOLVE, Accepting and Appropriating $323,900 in Funds as Part of the
Fiscal Year 2007 Homeland Security Grant Program

These grant funds were made available thmugh the M007 Homeland Secur ty Grant Program
and are distrbuted through the State of Maine Emergency Management Agency (MEMA). The
funds will be used to improve preparedness and response capabil"nies for Homeland Security
related events.
The monies will be used to provide funding for special teams support, automatic vehicle locator
software, a school generator, a special response vehicle, port security, water/communication
facility security, National Incident Management System compliance and additional funding for the
GIS project. A more detailed breaMown of the proposed uses of these funds is attached.

THAT the City is hereby authorized to accept and appropriate $323,400 in funds as part of the
Fiscal year 2007 Homeland Security Grant Program, said funds to be used for the purposes
outlined on the attached 2007 MEMA Spreadsheet
