this application.
This Order authorizes and directs the City Managerto submit an application W the5tate of Maine Department
of Economic & Community Development for $500,000 from the Municipal InvestmentTmst Fund, a program
that provides communities with funds to help meet public infrastructure and downtown improvements needs.
These funds would be used for infrastructure for the Downtown Bangor Waterfront Parc The City was
limited to submitthis application by the Maine Department of Economic &Community Development, and the
Business & Economic DevelopmentCanmittee has reviewed and recommendsdtatapplicapon farthesefunds

CITY OF BANGOR
(TITLE.) ORDER, Authorizing Application to the State of Maine for Municipal Invesbnent
Tent Funds
WHEREAS, the Municipal Investment Trust Fund (MITE) Grant Program provides communities
with funds to help meet their identified public infrastructure or downtown
improvement needs; and
WHEREAS, the Fund is intended to act as an incentive for local governments to Implement
programs which: are part of a long-range community strategy; minimize
development sprawl consistent with the Maine Growth Management Act; support
the revitalization of downtowns, Improve deteriorated business districts and local
economic conditions; and faster partnerships and encourage social and financial
Investments between groups of public and private development arganizabons W
address common community and economic development greeds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bangor is requesting $500,000 from the Municipal Investment Trust
Fund Grant Program for infrastructure for the Downtown Bangor Waterfront Park;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BANGOR THAT
the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit an application for funding made available
through the Maine Municipal Investment Trust Fund Grant Program in the amount of $500,000,
to take such actions as may be required to accept such funds as may W made available, and to
carry out the activities funded through the Municipal Invesoneri Trust Fund.
