Item/Subject. Order, Authorizing the City Manager to F ecuds a Collective Bargaining
Agreement Between the City of Bangor and Maine Association of Police, Representing Police
Patrol Officers.

Labor negotiations with Police Patrol Officers have molted in a Tentative Agreement between
the City and Union Negotiating Committees. This agreement follows the June 30, 2007
expiration of the most recent agreement between the parties. Major points of significance
include: a three-year tenn; wage adjustments of 3% year one, 3.25%for year two, and 3.25%
for year three; new health insurance carder, rates, and cost sharing base Wan; increases in
educational Incentives and private duty extras; new pay steps in the second and thind years of
the contact; the opportunity far lateral entry on the payscale for new hires with eepenence; an
Incentive payment far successful completion of a physical forms assessment; and other routine
housekeeping changes.
The Police Patrol Officers have voted to ratify the Tentative Agreement ThIs Agreement has
been reached within me bargaining guidelines previously established by the City Caundl, has
been reviewed in Executive Session with the Ceundl, and is now ready for your formal
consideration. The Agreement Is presented with the recommendation of the Police Chief and
Deputy Chief, the tabor Relations Meer, and Assistant City Manager.

the City of Bangor and Maine Association of Police, representing Police Patrol QffKem, for a
term of three years commencing July 1, 2007 and ending June 30, 2010.
