Commentary: Labor negotiations with Airport and Building Maintenanceemployees at BIA
have resulted in a Tentative Agreement between the City and Union Negotiating Committees.
This Agreement follows the June 30, 2007 expiration of the most recent agreemart between the
parties. Major points of significance include: a three-year term; wage adjustments of 3% year
one, 3% "or two, and 3% year three; new health insurance carrier, aces, and cost sharing
base pian; small adjustments to the bpm allowance; acting supervisor pay; the addition of new
pay steps in years two and three of the contact for the various pay ranges, and other minor
housekeeping changes.
The Airport and Building Maintenance unit recently voted to ratify the proposed Tentative
Agreement The Agreement has been reached within the bargaining guidelines previously
established by the City Council, and it is now ready for your consideration. This has been
reviewed in Exe ve Session with the Council. The Agreement is presented with the
recommendation of the Management Negotiating Committee (Harry Courtois, Rebecca Hupp,
and Bob Jarvis).

BE IT ORDERED BY THE CM COUNCIL OF THE CM OF BANGOR MAT
the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Collective Bargaining Agreement between
the City of Bangor and AFSCME, Council 93, Loral 656-06, representing BIA Airport and Building
Maintenance employees for a term of three years commencing July 1, 2007 and ending June
30, 2010.
