V3Wlb/ ria 039 Item/Subject: ORDER, Audwrizing the City Manager to Execute a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CM a Bangor and APSCME Council 93, local 926, Bangor Public Woks Resporrsibla Deparbrlem: Executive Cemmeonry: tabor negotiators between the City of Bangor and AFSCME Coundl 93, Wcal 926 representing certain Public Works employees have resulted in a tentative agreement between the two bargaining committees. This agreement would replace the existing 3 year contact which explmcl on June 30, 2007. Major points of significance in the new agreement include the following: a three year term; cost of Irving adjustments of 3% year one, 3% year two and 3% year three; one additional pay step In each of years two and three of he contract; revised health insurance rates based upon the CIGNA Open Access 90% Plan as the Otys standard base plan; Improved scheduling procedure for use of vacation and compensatory time; minor adjustments to boot and clothing allowances; clarification of recall rights, and various other housekeeping changes. The Public Works Union voted on December 3n to ratify the proposed agreement. It has been reviewed with the City Council in execudve session, most recently on November le, and the proposal is now ready for your consideration and final action. The agreement is presented with he recommendation of the Cl ys Management Negotiating Committee (Hang Courtois, Dana Wardwell, and Jerry Hughes), and I recommend your approval as well.
