Item/Subject RESOLVE, Accepting & Appropriating a Shelter Plus Care grant from the U. S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development.

This resolve appropriates a one year renewal of a grant originally approved in 2000 as part of
the Greater Penomwt Continuum of Care application proses. This grant provides rental
assistance to 10 disatc ed participant households, who are homeless, diagnosed with a chronic
psychlatrlc disorder, and comply with all eligibility requlremenes. In addition, Shelter Plus Care
clients receive services from other providers within the GPCOC such as: case management, daily
living skills, payee services, counseling, and medication management.
The attached! Resolve will accept and appropriate grant funds in the amount of $66,290 to
provide rental assistance fo qualified clients. There are no matching funds required from the
city.
