Gould, Planning Officer SUBJECT: Amending Zoning Ordinance Griffin Road Council Ordinance 07-308 Please be advised that the Manning Board at its meeting on October 2, 2007, held a Public Hearing on the above zone change request. Mr. Andrew Sturgeon representing Boman: Inc. explained that the proposed rezoning would allow the development of multi -family housing on the 16 acre parcel. Mr. Surgeon noted that the proposal was consistent with the City's land Use and Zoning Policy Plans contained in the 2005 Comprehensive Plan Update. Planning Officer David Gould explained that the Planning Office found the proposed rezoning consistent with the Cdy's Comprehensive Plan. He indicated that R offers great potential for housing flexibility in support of Husson College and the potential for a mixed use neighborhood with adjacent commercial services on Broadway that might be pedestrian oriented and not automobile service related, The Board voted unanimously in favor of a motion to recommend the proposed zoning amendment to the City Council as contained in Council Ordinance 07-308.
