Item/Subject: Resolve, Temporarily Designating Godfrey Boulevard from Maine Avenue
to the Bangor International Airport Terminal "Troop Greeters Way."

We have been approached by a local veterans group with the request to temporally dedicate
Godfrey Boulevard from Maine Avenueto the Airport terminal buildings as"Troop Greeters Way" in
recognition of the on-going efforts of the Maine Troop Greeters. The attached resolve would do so
and would remain in effect while the greeters continue their activities at Bangor International. Staff
would be autholded W install signs indicating this ceremonial designation. The official name of the
road would remain Godfrey Boulevard and no current addresses would require changing.
The group has also requested approval to instill American flags on the light poles lining the
roadway.
This has been redewed and is recommended by the Transportation and Infrasbuc ure Committee.

CITY OF BANGOR
(TITLE.) Resolve, Temporarily Designating Godfrey Boulevard from Maine Avenue to
the Bangor International Airport Terminal "Troop Greeters Way."
BE IT RESOLVED By THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR THAT
Godfrey Boulevard from Maine Avenue to the Bangor International Airport Terminal
is hereby ceremonially designated as "Troop Greeters Way" and City staff is
authorized to install temporary signs indicating this designation. In further
recognition of this designation and as a reminder of the service of our veterans, the
installation of American flags on the light poles along Troop Greeters Way is also
authorized. This resolve shall remain in effect during the time that the Maine Troop
Greeters continue to meet military personnel transiting through Bangor
International Airport to and from oversea deployments.
