TMs resolve appropriates a ane year grant W fund the HUD mandated computerized system for
tracpng homeless persons and the services they receive. The system Is wiled the "Homeless
Management Information System", or "HMIS." The HMIS will improve local homeless providers'
and the City's ability to obtain an unduplicated count of homeless persona. HMIS will aim
facilitate atter to information about diemt assessonent data statewide. The Cites of Bangor
and Portland have partnered with Maine State Housing (MSHA) to design and Implement the
system. Most local agencies are on-line with the system, including the Dept. of Health &
Welfare. The design and Implementation has been accomplished by partnership with MSHA,
and, in this case, the City pretty much acts as a pass-through of the HMIS funds to MSHA.
The stanched! Resolve will accept and appropriate grant funds In the amount of $16,758 for site
third year of implementation of the HMIS. There are no matching funds required from the City.
Matching funds In the amount of $3,990 will be provided by In-Idnd assistance made available to
local agencies by the aWs Dept. of infomaatlon Services. This grant Is administered by the
Department of Community & Economic Development and includes an adminlmabve fee in the
amount of $798.

WHEREAS, the Ory of Bangor has applied for funding to the U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development under Its "Haneless Confinuum of Ure Super NOFV to fund
a year of design and Implementadpn of a computerized Homeless Management
Information System (HMIS) in partnership with the Maim State Housing Authority;
and
WHEREAS, funding has been awarded in the amount of$16,758;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OFTHE CETY OF
BANGORTHAT
This grant from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development In the amount of $16,756
Is hereby accepted and appropriated.
