Sass Will -- Release of Deed Restrictions Responsible Department: Legal Commentary: In 1898 Joseph P. Bass leased a certain parcel of land to the Maine Central Railroad on Bangor's waterfront. The City when it purchased the railroad land along the waterfront acquired its interest in the lease. The Probate Court authorized the termi- nation of the trust and the sale of the property to the City. -The purchase price was the appraised value of $38,000. Baas, by the power widened by law and every other power for consideration paid, grants to CITY OF BANGOR, a municipal corporation, located in Bangor, County of Penobscot, State of Maine, a certain lot or parcel of land situate in Bangor, County of Penobscot, State of Maine, bounded and described as follows, viz: Commencing at a point marked A on blue print (copy) attached, said blue print being made a part of this instrument, said point A being on West bank of Penobscot River on line between land now or formerly owned by Heirs of Daniel B.
