RESOLVE Making an Appropriation from the General Fund's Reserre for Self Insurance to Fund the General Fund's Portion of the Costs Associated with the Hows Comer, Plymouth, Maine Waste 011 Site RI/FS. Responsible Department The City of Bangor is a Potentially Responsible Party (PRP) fora supertend site located in Plymouth, IvUine, The City hasjoined along Defetae Groap with other PRPsw defend in bus mgla. The Joint Def se Group has engaged Woodard & Curren to conduct the field studies and write the Remedial Investigation surd Feasibility Study reports. Woodard&Curren's balance is approximately$850,000; the Joint Def se Group will be levying an assessment to its members to pay these fees in late February or early March. The City's stere will be approxanstely $24,59'/.51, based on Inc City's proportional contribution of waste oil to the site. This Resolve will establish and fund an account W permit the City to pay this assewmeg. This item was reviewed and approved by the Finance Committee g its February 7, 2000 meeting. Byte CRyCbunayofMe OryofftVdr: RESOLVED, THAT.• an amount of funds sufficient to cover the first assessment from the Joint Defense Group, approximately $24,597.81, is hereby appropriated W an account to,be established by the Finance Director in order to fund the General Fund's portlon of the First assessment of costs by the RI/FS Joint Defense Group for costs associated with the Hows Corner, Plymouth, Maine, waste oil site. A total of $11,733.16 shall be appropriated from the Airport Reserves and a total of $12,864.65 shall be appropriated from the General Fund's Reserve for Self-Insurance. In the event that the actual assessment exceeds $24,597.81, the Finance Director is authorized to increase the appropriation proportionally from each source provided the increase does not exceed $1,000.00.
