HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-11-08 00-014 ORDINANCECOUNCIL ACTION Date: November 0. 1999 Item No. 00-16 Item/Subject: Amending Chapter 291 Article III Parking of the City of Bangor Code - Adopting New Parking Schedules Responsible Department: Community 6 Economic Development Commentary: This is a housekeeping amendment to the parking code adopting w parking schedules regulating parking throughout the City. The Police Department and Community and economic Development Department have prepared a computerized format for the parking schedules and in the process have eliminated duplicate information, inconsistencies and e in descriptions fisting in the current schedules due to many amendmentsover the years. The new format can be sorted by street, providing patrol officers a better format to refer to, and a better format to refer to whenmakingfuture amendments. No changes to aRisting parking regulations are intended. Where inconsistencies have existed the current schedules, we have followed the parking as regulated by posted signs in the field. Department Head Managers Comments: C+FD " a y,., m."Jor &411 i�jjli City Manager Associated information Q Budget Approval: Finance Director Introduced For ❑ Passage KFirst Reading Referral _1_ r+V1D Page 1 of 1 Aeogoed to Cmuwilor Palmer November S. 1999 CITY OF BANGOR Amending Chapter 291 Article III Parking of the City of (TITLE,) Bangor Code -Adopting New Parking Schedules Be it ordaiaed by W City Coattail of W City of Bandar, as folfoma: WHEREAS, Chapter 291 Article III of the Code of the City of Bangor contains provisions governing parking for all City Streets, Pickering Square Parking Garage, and City -owned surface parking lots; and WHEREAS Chapter 291 Article III refers to Schedules 1, 11,111, IV, V, VI, VII, VIE, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, XV, and XI that describe the regulations that apply to specific parking areas; and WHEREAS the information in there Schedules has been computerized to facilitate access to and cross reference of orientation therein; and WHEREAS in the process of computerizing the iNonnation in these Schedules inconsistencies and errors detected during the process have been conomed; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAMED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR, as follows: THAT Schedules Schedules I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VB, VIII, IX, X, M, XII, XIII, XIV, XV and XVI refered to in Chapter 291 Article III of the Code of the Coity of Bangor are hereby replaced by Schedules I, 11, Ill, IV, V, VE VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, XV and XVI dated October 26,1999, copies of which are on file in the City Clerk's office. Article III Parking, of the City of Merger Cade - Ad - nation New Parking Scheduler 00-15 OX7081PG317 Bass Park four hundred (400) feet to a point; thence deflecting to the left 730 59' and in a northeasterly direction by the line of Bass Park twenty-five (25) feet to an iron rod in the westerly corner of a parcel of land conveyed by Elaine Bass Pierce to the City of Bangor, May 1956; thence at right angles and in a south- easterly direction one hundred forty-four and ninety-nine one hundredths (144.99) feet to a point; thence by acrve to the right sixty-two and eighty-nine one hundredths (62.89) feet to the point of beginning. The above described premises are conveyed subject to the rights of the City of Bangor to maintain a sewer line as granted in deed of Joseph P. Bass to the City of Bangor dated December 9, 1901 and recorded in Penobscot Registry of Deeds in Vol. 707, Page 403 and its rights in a strip of land for a street conveyed by Joseph P. Bass to the City of Bangor by said deed above referred to. Any portion of the above described premises that may lie within the bounds of Norway Road, Carver Street and Brigham Street as laid out or as built and used is conveyed subject to any rights the grantee, the public or others may have in said streets. Meaning and intending to convey a portion of the premises described in the following deeds, to Wib Samuel Jewett to Joseph P. Bass dated November 7, 1882 and recorded in Penobscot County Registry of Deeds, Volume 536 Page 180; William H. Bussey to Joseph P. Bass dated December 29, 1882 and recorded in Penobscot County Registry of Deeds, Volume 535 Page 405; Horace A. Stone to Joseph P. Bass dated July 6, 1886 and recorded in said Registry, Volume 568 Page 46; George A. Stone to Joseph P. Bass dated August 29, 1885 and recorded in said Registry Volume 558, Page 428. The said Joseph P. Bass devised his interest i said premises to Albert E. Bass, an abstract of his will being recorded in Vol. 908 Page 104 of the Penobscot Registry of Deeds. The said Albert E. Bass devised his interest in said premises to Elaine Bass Pierce, an abstract of which is recorded in said registry in Vol. 1013 Page. 235. The purpose of this deed is to release the Grantee from all conditions applicable to said premises as described in deed of Elaine Bass Pierce to the City of Bangor dated December 30, 1975 and recorded in Penobscot County Registry of Deeds in Volume 2628, Page 95. BK108I?G318 Provided that, however, the above-described premises shall, as a condition of this conveyance, continue to be forever known as "Bass Park." TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above-described premises unto the .City of Bangor, its successors and assigns, I, the said John M. Pierce as successor i interest to the residual interests of Elaine Bass Pierce by virtue of a deed from Elaine Bass Pierce to the said John M. Pierce dated July 28, 1978, and recorded in Penobscot County Registry of Deeds at Book 2892, Page 328, do hereby covenant with the City of Bangor I have good right to release said interest to said Grantee.
