The proposed grant is for $124,249 per year and is renewable for up to 10 years. The purpose of the grant Is to implement a substance abuse prevention program for youth in Brewer, Clifton, Eddingum, Hampden, Hermon, Holden, Newburgh, and Orrington, which represents eight of the 12 communities In our Healthy Maine Partnership region. The Government Operations Committee reviewed this request on March 29, 2011 and unanimously recommended it for Council approval.
