Item/Subject: Resolve, Appropriating $100,000 from the Maine Department of Economic and
Community Development under the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development
Neighborhood Stabilization Program

The attached Resolve will appropriate $100,000 in funds from the State of Maine Department
of Economic and Community Development under the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development Neighborhood Stabilization Program. The funds will reimburse the City for the
City $100,000 cost of acquisition of 41 Second Street which the City is transferring to Penquis
C.A.P. for redevelopment and reuse as four units of affordable housing under the
Neighborhood Stabilization Program.

and Community Development under the United States Department of Housing and Urban
Development Neighborhood Stabilization Program
WHEREAS, on February 23, 2009 the City Council authorized the submission of an application
to the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development for
Neighborhood Stabilization Program funds in the amount of $1;084,873; and
WHEREAS, the City received notification that the application had been approved in the
amount of $1,084,873; and
WHEREAS, the City appropriated these funds on July 27, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Ne City has been notified by the Maine Department of Economic and Community
Development that we will receive an additional $100,000 under the Neighborhood
Stabilization Program:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR THAT
The additional $100,000 grant from the Maine Department of Economic and Community
Development under the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development
Neighborhood Stabilization Program is hereby appropriated for the purpose of purchasing,
rehabilitating, and resale of foreclosed and abandoned residential properties.
