HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011-09-12 11-279 RESOLVECOUNCIL AC `ION Item No. +799 Date: September 12, 2011 Item/Subject: Resolve, Authorizing the Airport to Appropriate a Grant for $398,372.05 from the Federal Aviation Administration and $10,483.48 from the Maine Department of Transportation for Airport Improvement Program Grant #54 to Replace the Airheld Signage Responsible Department: Airport Commentary: The current airtield signage is beginning to show signs of wear and tear and needs to be replaced. By replacing all the signs, the Airport will be able to transdion to LED lighted signs and the signs will all be by the same manufacturer thus simplifying maintenance and parts inventory. This dem was noted by the FAA inspector on our annual FAA Part 139 inspection and this course of action was recommended. The attached Resolve will appropriate federal and state grant funds for this purpose.
