Item No. +799
Date: September 12, 2011
Item/Subject: Resolve, Authorizing the Airport to Appropriate a Grant for $398,372.05 from
the Federal Aviation Administration and $10,483.48 from the Maine Department of
Transportation for Airport Improvement Program Grant #54 to Replace the Airheld Signage
Responsible Department: Airport
Commentary: The current airtield signage is beginning to show signs of wear and tear and
needs to be replaced. By replacing all the signs, the Airport will be able to transdion to LED
lighted signs and the signs will all be by the same manufacturer thus simplifying maintenance
and parts inventory. This dem was noted by the FAA inspector on our annual FAA Part 139
inspection and this course of action was recommended.
The attached Resolve will appropriate federal and state grant funds for this purpose. The
federal grant will fund 95% of the project with the remaining 5% being split between the
Airport and the State.
