Improvement Reserve m assist with me Relocation of the Skateboard Park.

Cmnrrrr:ntary: If approved, this Resolve would appropriate up to $55,000 from the City's
Improvement Reserve to assist with various costs associated with relocating the Skateboard Park
from Bas Park m Maine Avenue. Work will be underway shortly for the construction of the new
Arena, and the Skateboard Park will need to be dismantled and moved. Skateboard Park users
and supporters, Patios and Recreation staff and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee
worked together W identify the new location on. Maine Avenue. That location was ultimately
approved by the Government Operations Committee and Council. In order to begin the
relocation process, funding will be needed for work such as site preparation, gravel base
construction, placement of approximately 15,000 square feet of pavement and related sfte work
and projectimprovements. Funds for this work have been identified and are avallable In the
City's Improvement Reserve, and staff has recommended that funding come man this source.
This funding approach has been reviewed and recommended for approval by the Government
Operations Committee. The Committee recommended that an Appropriation Resolve be
prepared and referred to the Finance Committee for consideration.

(TITLE.) Resolve, Appropriating an Amount not to Exceed $55,000 from the Improvement
Reserve to Assist with the Relocation of the Skateboard Park
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR
BE IT RESOLVED, THAT an amount not to exceed Fifty-five Thousand Dollars is hereby
appropriated to assist with the relocation of the Skateboard Park from its current location at
Bass Park, to a City owned parcel of land on Maine Avenue, adjacent Be the City's Recycling
Center; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, THAT said appropriation is intended to be used for purposes
related to the relocation of the skateboard park, including but not limited to site preparation,
gravel base construction, purchase and placement of bituminous pavement, and other
necessary site Improvements and associated work; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,THAT the Finance Director shall establish such accounts
necessary to properly account for these funds and transactions.
