HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011-07-25 11-249 RESOLVECOUNCIL ACTION Item Nd. 44"4(, Date: July 25. 2011 Item/Subject: Resolve, Accepting and Appropriating $807,596 in Grant Funds from the Federal Aviation Administration and $21,252 in Grant Funds from the Maine Department of Transportinon under the Airport Improvement Program Project 52 Responsible Department: Airport Commentary: The Federal Aviation Administration had approved $2,743,893 in funding to reconstruct the Cargo Aircraft Parking Apron. This is the aircraft parking area located between the International Arrivals buidling and the Joint -Use Military aircraft parking area. As the FAA has been operating under Continuing Resolutions, Alp fund has been released incrementally. On March, 22, 2010, the Council appropriated $2,174,163 in AIP grant funds, as well as the proportionate State share, for the Cargo Aircraft Parking Apron. This AIP Grant #52 releases the remaining funding to complete the Cargo Aircraft Parking Apron project as well as funding to complete the engineering design work for the General Aviation Aircraft Parking Apron. The grant will fund 95% of the project with the remaining 5% being split between the Airport and the State.
