of the Employeae of 'The Bae' for their Professionalism and High
Level Of C®mitaeat to Customer service
Responsible Department: City Manager
Co®entary: The attached Resolve will recognize employees of 'The Bus"
Division. Recently, an evaluation of public Transportation in the FACTS area
was completed, and the focus of the effort centered around the regional
transit provider -- "The Bon". The City of danger has operated the service for
seven surroueding communities and the University Of Heine.
Results Of the study were extremely favorable in a variety of areas ncluding
ustomer satisfaction, oat efficiency and effectiveness, willingness to
continue financial support by both users and run- re, overall cleanliness of
the buses, and the professionalism of the drivers.
Clearly, the employees of the Division including 2 full-time vW approximately
25 part-time drivers are responsible for the success of the Operation and the
very positive evaluation of the system. The employem work herd on a daily
basis to ensure
that the buses are presentable to the public and in
ovjunctionwith the City Motor Pool are in a safe and reliable working
condition. Drivers are routinely complimented for being helpful and courteous
particularly to these customers who have special needs. Given that were than
400,000 rides are provided annually, the City receives an exceptionally small
number Of customer complaints.
These accomplishments and achievements reflect a commitment to a high quality
service end attentiveness t0 the meads Of the customers. These employees are
representative of the type of dedicated and conscientious employees of which
the City and its citizens can
n be proud. I strongly support the attached
Resolve and would encourage City Council to approve the Resolve which
recoguires their accomplishoa nta and achievements.
