'VATEI ft".,,a . ..eco ((ninon RECOGNIZING BEAL COLLEGE ON THEIR 125th ANNIVERSARY FOR THEIR COMMITMENT AND SERVICE TO THE GREATER BANGOR AREA WHEREAS, Beal College was founded in 1891 by Mary Beal and was originally named the Bangor Business College; and WHEREAS, Beal College was first located in downtown Bangor before moving to a larger facility in 1972, and to their current location on Farm Road in 2004; and WHEREAS, Beal College specializes in associate-level degree programs in business, medical, law enforcement and other high-demand service fields, offering personal, hands-on • education in a small, local campus setting; and WHEREAS, Beal College offers innovative and unique practices, for the benefit of their students, such as utilizing an 8-week modular "mod" system that allows for greater flexibility and alternative entry options rather than the traditional semester programs starting only in September and January; and WHEREAS, Beal College has been an important educational, cultural, and business resource to Bangor and we are grateful for their unwavering support for the City of Bangor and its many initiatives including ARTober and the Cool Sounds Concert Series. NOW,THEREFORE, I,Sean Faircloth, Mayor of the City of Bangor, on behalf of the City Council and the citizens of Bangor, do hereby recognizes the many contributions made by Beal College and its students to the City of Bangor for the last 125 years and look forward to continuing a strong relationship with the College well into the future.
