Responsible Department: Airport Commentary: This resolve will appropriate $240,000 in Airport Reserve Funds to construct overflow parking. For the past several years, the Bangor International Airport has experienced significant growth in originating passengers particularly during the winter months. As a result, the parking demand has greatly exceeded capacity during the months of February through April, and November and December. The existing parking, located adjacent to the terminal building does not have sufficient area to expand. For the past several months the Engineering Department and the Airport have been working to identify the least costly method of addressing the seasonal parking capacity issue. The best location was the site located along Maine Ave. between Godfrey and Griffin. In addition to funding through the Reserve, it is anticipated that costs to develop this parking lot will be offset through parking revenues. Anthony P. Caruso Department Head Manager's Comments: This has been reviewed by Airport Committee and is recommended for approval.
