In practice, however, the City Engineer has always both approved and issued the permits. This Ordinance amendment would bring the ordinance into line with past practice, and make the Engineer responsible for the form of the permit application as well. Ordinance, Amending Chapter 271, Streets, of the Code of the City of Bangor, By Authorizing the City Engineer to Issue Curb Cut Permits WHEREAS, City ordinance requires anyone building a driveway to first obtain a permit approved by the City Engineer and issued by the Code Enforcement Officer; WHEREAS, in practice, the City Engineer has always both approved and issued this permit; and WHEREAS, the City ordinance should be amended to bring it into compliance with past practice; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR AS FOLLOWS, Chapter 271 of the Code of the City of Bangor be amended as follows: § 271-37. Permit required. No person shall build or construct a driveway providing access to a street without first obtaining a permit approved and issued by the City Engineer and issued by the Gede EnfeFeement offleeF, and application for said permit shall be submitted in such form as the Gede Enfwefflent effi City Engineer may prescribe.
