Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA} to provide for the TSA
in-line checked baggage inspection system solution at the Bangor International Airport.

COmmentdry: The Airport is requesting authorization to accept and appropriate a grant in the
amount af$4,060,753 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security
Administration (TSA) to provide for the TSA in-line checked baggage inspection system solution at the
Bangor International Airport. This project involves the modification to and construction of the airport
terminal building infrastructure to incorporate the TSA in-line checked baggage inspection
system.Terminal modifications include changes to to baggage conveyor components, mechanical,
plumbing, electrical, structural and telecommunnciations infrastrusture to provide for the installation of
the TSA equipment. The objective of the project is to enhance airport security and baggage screening
capabilities and throughput. StafF recommends approval.

WHEREAS, The City's application to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security
Administratian (TSA} for grant funds ta provide for the TSA in-line checked baggage
� inspection system solution at the Bangor Internationai Airport has been aecepted, and the

I The City Manager/ Interim Airport Director is hereby authorized to accept the grants from the
U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration in the amount of
$4,060,753 to provide for the TSA in-line checked baggage inspection system at the Bangor
I International Airport; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT
There is hereby appropriated within the Airport Fund the amount of$4,Q6Q,753 recognizing these
federal grant funds to be used for this project. The City Finance Director is hereby authorized to place
these amounts within the appropriate accounts.
