Commentary: This Order authorizes the City Manager to execute a two year collective
bargaining agreement with unionized Motor Pool employees. Negotiations between the City and
Bangor Federation of Public Employees Local 6071 have resulted in a Tentative Agreement
' which has been ratified by the Union membership. This Agreement follows the most recent
contract which expired on June 30, 2010. The Agreement has been reached within the
bargaining guidelines previously established by the City Council and includes the following: a
two year term, no cost of living adjustment for both years, updated health insurance rates and
date changes, closure of the OAP- In 100% health insurance plan for new hires, small
adjustments to the safety boot and foot allowance provisions, and a revision to the language
regarding the use of emergency sick leave. The Agreement is presented with the
recommendation of the Management Negotiations Committee and has been reviewed with the
Council in Executive Session. A copy of the Agreement will be provided under separate cover.
