Item/Subject: Order, Directing the City Manager to Take Possession of Property Located at
110 Pearl Street — Peter Brown and Jennifer Brown
Responsible Department: Legal
Commentary:
The property of Peter and Jennifer Brown located at 110 Pearl Street, Bangor, Maine has
outstanding property tax liens that have matured. In addition, the City of Bangor holds
mortgages on the property and the mortgage payments are in arrears. The City and the Browns
have entered into a work-out agreement for the payment of the outstanding taxes and mortgage
arrearages. The Browns have failed to comply with the terms and conditions of the work-out
agreement. As a result, the City is entitled to exercise its statutory right to take possession of
the property because of the matured property tax liens.
This Order, if approved, will direct the City Manager to take the necessary action to take
possession of the property at 110 Pearl Street because of the matured property tax liens.
