Item No. 12 15$2
Date: May 14, 2012
Item/Subject: Order, Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a Collective
Bargaining Agreement between the City of Bangor and AFSCME
Council 93 representing Ramp Attendants and Shift Leads at Bangor
International Airport
Responsible Department: Executive
Commentary: This Order authorizes the City Manager to execute a one year extension to the
Collective agreement with Ramp Attendants and Shift Leads at Bangor International Airport.
Negotiations between the City and AFSCME Council 93 have resulted in a Tentative Agreement,
which is already been ratified by the union. This agreement follows the expiration of the most
recent 2008-2011 contract. This agreement has been reached within the bargaining guidelines
previously established by the City Council and includes the following terms: a one year
agreement, no cost of living adjustment, updated health insurance rates and associated date
changes, clarifying language regarding the seniority list and revised wording to reflect that the
Ramp Supervisors are no longer represented by this bargaining unit. The Agreement is
presented with the recommendation of the Management Bargaining Committee and has been
reviewed by the Council in Executive Session. A copy of the agreement will be provided under
separate cover.
