Item No.
Date: March 26, 2012
Item/Subject: ORDER, Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a Quitclaim meed for
24 Central Street to Betsy and Zeth Lundy
Responsible Department: Community and Economic Development
Commentary:
Betsy and Zeth Lundy have expressed interest in purchasing 24 Central Street, sometimes called
the Zoidis lot, from the City for $5,000. The City's Assessing Department and an independent
review have confirmed that this is an appropriate figure given the encumbrances on the
property.
This Order would authorize the City to execute a quitclaim deed in favor of the Lundys. The deed
contains a right of first refusal, meaning the City would have an opportunity to repurchase the
property should the Lundys later choose to sell it. The property is in the Bangor Center
Revitalization Area, commonly called the fagade district, so will have to abide by certain aesthetic
requirements.
The Business and Economic Development Committee recommends approval.
