Commentary:
On July 11, 2011, by Council Order 11-237 the City Council of the City of Bangor authorized the
execution of a one year lease with the Greater Bangor Chamber of Commerce, Inc. ("Chamber'
for property located at 208 Main Avenue. The Greater Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau
("CVB') would like to share space with the Chamber at 208 Main Avenue for the remainder of
the term of the said lease. The Chamber and the CVB have agreed on how the property would
be shared including the division of expenses.
This Order, if approved, will authorize the termination of the current lease with the Chamber and
authorize a new lease with the Chamber and one with the CVB, lease parts of the property to
each with provisions for their payment of the expenses and use of common areas. The leases
are until July 2011 with an option for negotiation for a one year renewal as provided in the
current lease with the Chamber.

Chamber of Commerce, Inc., Executing a new Lease with the Greater
Bangor Chamber of Commerce, Inc. and a Lease with the Greater Bangor
Convention and Visitors Bureau
WHEREAS, on July 11, 2011, by Council Order 11-237 the City Council of the City of Bangor
authorized the execution of a one year lease with the Greater Bangor Chamber of Commerce,
Inc. ("Chamber" for property located at 208 Main Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the Greater Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau ("CVB) would like to share
space with the Chamber at 208 Main Avenue for the remainder of the term of the said lease;
and
WHEREAS, the Chamber and the CVB have agreed on how the property would be shared
including the division of expenses. -

ORDERED,
THAT the City Manager is authorized to execute a termination of the City of Bangor's current
lease with the Greater Bangor Chamber of Commerce, Inc. and to execute a new lease with the
Greater Bangor Chamber of Commerce, Inc. and a Lease with the Greater Bangor Convention
and Visitors Bureau. Said leases shall be for a term through July 11, 2012, with an option to
renew for one year, at a rate of $1.00, utilities to be paid for by the Greater Bangor Chamber of
Commerce, Inc. and with the Greater Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau and shall provide
that the Greater Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau shall occupy the large central
conference room of the premises and/or the room in the northwest corner, the Greater Bangor
Chamber of Commerce, Inc. shall occupy the balance of the premises, provided that each
Lessee shall have use of the kitchen, restrooms and hallways of the premises, the parking and
any other common areas. Said termination and Lease shall be in a final form as approved by
the City Solicitor or Assistant City Solicitor.
