Cancer Consortium to Support the Implementation of Walk and Bike to School Programs

Commentary: This Order would authorize the City Manager to apply for and accept a $4,999 grant from
the Maine Cancer Consortium to support the implementation of Walk and Bike to School Programs. The Walk
and Bike to School Programs were established to help schools with the nominal financial cost involved in
successful walk and bike to school program startup, including small stipends for teachers who help organize,
banners to hold during the walking events, t -shirts to identify adult volunteers and some prizes and incentives
for participants.
