Specifically, this amendment will delete the table of records from the Chapter 28 of the Codified Ordinances and will reference the state document. By Charter, the City Clerk is designated as the Records Management Officer for the City of Bangor. Although records are housed throughout the City in various offices, the City Clerk has worked as a liaison with all departments to ensure that records are properly protected, retained, purged and destroyed (when applicable). By referencing that Chapter, the City will be in compliance and avoid any potential conflicts that could result by creating its own listing.
