Item No. 12 010
Date: November 14, 2011
Item/Subject: Order, Authorizing the City Manager to Amend the existing Fuel Supply and Branding
Agreements with Western Petroleum Company of Minnesota to Offer an Alternate Fuel Brand at Bangor
International Airport
Responsible Department: Airport
Commentary: Recently, ExxonMobil Aviation (EMA) notified Western Petroleum and its FBOs, including
Bangor International, of EMA's intent to exit the retail aviation fuel business at the end of November.
Under the Airport's existing fuel supply contract, Western Petroleum has the authority to substitute fuel
brands.
The Airport is requesting authorization to amend the existing agreement to reflect the changes
necessitated by ExxonMobil's exit from the market place. These changes will allow the Airport to maintain
the existing credit card processing and support functions without extending the term of the agreement.
The final agreement will be in a form reviewed and approved by the City Solicitor.
This Order will authorize the City Manager to amend the existing Fuel Supply and Branding Agreements
with Western Petroleum Company to offer an alternate fuel brand at Bangor International Airport and
they will be in a form reviewed and approved by the City Solicitor.
