Item No. 15-032
Date: December 8, 2014
Item/Subject: Resolve, Ratifying the Execution of an Agreement Between the City of Bangor
and the Maine Emergency Management Agency – Infectious Disease Enforcement Response
Team
Responsible Department: Police Department
Commentary: Approval of this resolve will ratify an agreement between the City of Bangor
Police Department and the Maine Emergency Management Agency for participation in an
Infectious Disease Enforcement Response Team. The Maine Emergency Management Agency
has created a law enforcement response team to provide law enforcement services in cases
involving a known or suspected infectious disease. The response team will participate in
activities such as enforcing a lawful court order or other legal process. Because the City of
Bangor has two major hospitals and an international airport, our participation Is important.
Several other agencies including the Maine State Police and Maine Department of Health and
Human Services are participating.
