Item/Subject: Resolve, Applying, Accepting and Appropriating an Airport Improvement Plan (AIP)
program, grant # 63 grant in the amount of $306,163 from the Federal Aviation Administration and
$17,009 from the Maine Department of Transportation.

Commentary: The airport is requesting authorization to apply, accept and appropriate a grant in the
amount of $306,163 from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and $17,009 from the Maine
Department of Transportation under the Airport Improvement Plan (AIP) program, grant # 63. If
approved, the grant will fund Phase I design and engineering for the rehabilitation of existing taxiway
pavement, including taxiways'A', Wand Dock -10. This project is included in BGR's FAA approved five-
year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). Under this grant, the FAA will fund 90% of the project, the State
will fund 5% and the City is required to fund the remaining 5%, which will come from the airport
operations.

(TITLE) Resolve, Applying, Accepting and Appropriating an Airport Improvement Plan (AIP) program,
grant # 63 grant in the amount of $306,163 from the Federal Aviation Administration and $17,009 from
the Maine Department of Transportation.
WHEREAS, The City's applications to the Federal Aviation Administration and the Maine Department of
Transportation for Airport Improvement Project grant funds for this project at Bangor
International Airport have been accepted, and the Federal Aviation Administratrion and the
State of Maine have agreed to provide the funding; and
WHEREAS, This project is included in the airports FAA approved five-year Capital Improvement Plan
(CIP); and
WHEREAS, Federal funds will cover 90% of the cost of the project with an additional 5.0% coming from
the State of Maine and 5.0% from the Airport.
BE ITRESOOLVEDBY7NECITYCOUNCIL OF THE CI TY OF BANGOR, THAT
the City Manager is hereby authorized to accept the grants from the Federal Aviation Administration and
the Maine Department of Transportation in the amount of $323,172 under the Airport Improvement Plan
(AIP) program, grant # 63 for Phase I design for the rehabilitation necessary for the existing taxiway
pavement that has reached the end of its useful life at Bangor International Airport; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT
There is hereby appropriated within the Airport Fund the amount of $323,172 recognizing this federal
grant fund to be used for this project. The City Finance Director is hereby authorized to place this
amount within the appropriate accounts.
