A selection committee reviewed all of the submissions. After the initial review, three respondents were interviewed by the selection committee. All firms interviewed were asked the same questions and asked to provide the same additional information (i.e. experience with USEPA Region 1 and MDEP, CSO Long term control plans, stormwater best management practices, etc.). The City is at a critical point and will be developing a plan to address Clean Water Act regulations that could extend beyond 20 years. With that in mind the interview team is unanimously recommending AECOM be hired to provide professional engineering services for the City. The recommendation is based on AECOM's experience in our region, expertise in areas where we need assistance, long term relationships with municipalities in Maine, competitive rates and internal controls that should enable them to provide services efficiently and report such to the City. On June 2, 2014, the Finance Committee approved staff recommendation to award the contract to AECOM. The contract award recommendation must be reviewed approved by the City Council as it is over $100,000.
