Department: Legal Commentary: This Order will authorize the execution of a termination of lease dated July 28, 2010, between the City and Maine Department of Public Safety for space in the former Fire Station 6 on Kenduskeag Avenue. The term of the lease was for a period of five years, beginning on September 1, 2010 and ending on August 31, 2015. The State of Maine no longer has any use for the space and has requested that the City agree to terminate the lease early, effective May 31, 2014. ORDER, Authorizing Execution of a Termination of Lease Between the City of Bangor and Maine Department of Public Safety — Station 6, Kenduskeag Avenue WHEREAS, by lease dated July 28, 2010 the State of Maine Department of Public Safety leased a portion of Station 6 from the City of Bangor for use by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency; and WHEREAS, said lease does not terminate until August 31, 2015; and WHEREAS, the Maine Department of Public Safety no longer has a need for the space and has requested that the lease be terminated early, effective May 31, 2014. By the Oty Council of the Oty of Bangor. ORDERED, That Catherine M. Conlow, City Manager, is hereby authorized on behalf of the City of Bangor to execute all documents necessary to terminate the lease of a portion of Station 6, Kenduskeag Avenue between the City of Bangor and the State of Maine Department of Public Safety.
