HomeMy WebLinkAbout2014-09-08 14-291 RESOLVECOUNCIL ACTION Item No. 14-291 Date: September 8, 2014 Item/Subject: Resolve, Authorizing the City Manager to Accept and Appropriate $25,229 of Edward Byrne Memorial Grant Funds in Support of Bangor Police Department and the Penobscot County Sheriff's Department Responsible Department: Police Commentary: This resolve will accept and appropriate $25,229 in Edward Byrne Memorial Grant Funds in Support of Bangor Police Department and the Penobscot County Sheriff's Department. Under the terms of the grant the Bangor Police Department will receive $13,244 for the purchase of equipment including night optics and traffic enforcement equipment. To be eligible for the grant, the Bangor Police Department and the Penobscot County Sheriff's Department were required to file a joint application, with the agreement that one agency act as the administrator and be the pass-through for the monies under the project. The Bangor Police Department will serve as grant administrator and assess a 5% service fee to the Penobscot County Sheriff's Department. This grant does not require any local match.
