HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015-06-22 15-224 ORDERCOUNCIL ACTION Item No.':55-224 Date: June 22, 2015 Item/Subject: ORDER, Authorizing License Agreement with Queen City Properties, LLC for Storage of Trash Receptacles Adjacent to 22 Merchants Plaza located in Map (042-154) Responsible Department: Community and Economic Development Commentary: This item concerns a proposed License Agreement between the City of Bangor and Queen City Properties, LLC for the storage of trash receptacles in the city -owned parcel adjacent to 22 Merchants Plaza in downtown. Bangor. The receptacles would be utilized by the tenants in the building. As a condition of the agreement, the 10 ft. x 5 ft. requested space would be enclosed by a black, vinyl -coated chain link fence. The term of the agreement would be for a period of one year and require maintenance of the fence and enclosed area. This item was reviewed and recommended for approval by the Business & Economic Development Committee at its meeting on June 16, 2015. ORDER, Authorizing License Agreement with Queen City Properties, LLC for Storage of Trash Receptacles Adjacent to 22 Merchants Plaza located in Map (042-154) WHEREAS, the City of Bangor owns a parcel of land adjacent to the building at 22 Merchants Plaza; and WHEREAS, Queen City Properties, LLC owns the building at 22 Merchants Plaza; and WHEREAS, Queen City Properties, LLC has requested to use a 10 -foot by 5 -foot area in the City -owned parcel to install a fenced, screened trash and recylcing area for their tenants; and WHEREAS, the City of Bangor has similar agreements to help downtown buildings manage their trash and recycling collection: BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR THAT The City Manager is authorized to enter into a License Agreement with Queen City Properties, LLC for the storage of trash receptacles in an area of City -owned property adjacent to the building at 22 Merchants Plaza. As a condition of the agreement, the 10 ft. x 5 ft. requested space would be enclosed by a black, vinyl -coated chain link fence. The term of the agreement would be for a period of one year and require maintenance of the fence and enclosed area.
