The Commission is grateful to the University of Maine Humanities Center not only for its financial contribution to ARTober, but also the invaluable resource support they have contributed to make the inaugural month-long celebration of the arts a success. RESOLVE, Accepting a $250 Donation from the University of Maine Humanities Center to Support a Month of the Arts, in Bangor WHEREAS, a donation has been made by the University of Maine Humanities Center to support ARTober (October), a month dedicated to the arts in Bangor; and WHEREAS, the City has directed the Commission on Cultural Development to promote the development of Bangor as a regional arts center that nurtures the artistic and cultural expression of its diverse peoples; and WHEREAS, the City's Commission on Cultural Development will utilize the donated funds to promote Bangor as an arts destination, to strengthen ties between arts and business communities, and to expand arts access to new populations: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR, THAT The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept a donation in the amount of $250 from the University of Maine Humanities Center to support a Month of the Arts in Bangor.
