HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015-06-22 15-223 ORDERCOUNCIL ACTION Item No.! 15-223 Date: June 22, 2015 Item/Subject: ORDER, Authorizing the City Manager to Execute an Agreement with 25-27 Broad Street LLC for a Handicapped Accessibility Ramp on the City Sidewalk Responsible Department: Community and Economic Development Commentary: This order will authorize the City Manager, to execute an agreement with 25-27 Broad Street, LLC for a handicap accessibility ramp on a sidewalk. As this building is in the downtown district, there are no setbacks and private property to locate a ramp outside the building. If approved, this order would allow 25-27 Broad Street LLC to use a portion of the City sidewalk in front of the building to place a handicapped accessibility ramp. The ramp will be black metal, extend 5'6" into the sidewalk, and run approximately 15'8" along the front of the building. Nothing will be permanently affixed to the City sidewalk. There will be a minimum of 16' from the edge of the ramp to the street curb, leaving ample public access over the sidewalk. The agreement will expire if either the use of the ground floor or the ownership changes. This item was reviewed and recommended for approval by the Business and Economic Development Committee on June 16, 2015. ORDER, Authorizing the City Manager to Execute an Agreement with 25-27 Broad Street LLC for a Handicapped Accessibility Ramp on the City Sidewalk BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR, THAT The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement on behalf of the City of Bangor with 25-27 Broad Street LLC for the placement of a handicapped accessibility ramp on the City sidewalk in front of 25-27 Broad Street. The agreement shall indicate the location of the ramp, and shall expire if either the use or ownership of the ground floor of 25-27 Broad Street should change.
