At present, grant requests to the Cultural Commission are split into two tiers. Grant requests of less than $1000 are considered on a rolling basis, while grant requests of $1000 or more are considered twice a year. This can lead to confusion for applicants, and make it difficult for the Commission to make decisions about how much money should be allocated and how much held at different points in the year. The ordinance amendment would allow the Commission to consider all grant applications as part of a review process laid out in the Commission's annual work plan. Other provisions of the ordinance would remain intact. This amendment was reviewed by the Business and Economic Development Committee on December 22, 2015.
